"I've donated blood three times.
I love the hustle bustle of a
camp. People are friendly and
kind. It makes me feel very
special."

All set to donate blood? We would like to assure you about a few things and set you at ease...

The blood donation experience will be an uplifting one.
In our experience, most people after donating blood are filled with a sense of well-being. We have had people say they feel "great", "uplifted", "fantastic", "spiritual". These are feelings which are well deserved! Donating blood is a wonderful way of doing 'seva', which is integral to our culture and upbringing.
The blood you donate will be treated with respect and taken care of.
Your blood will be meticulously labelled, processed into 3 different components, tested, and added to the Blood Bank stocks within a few hours of donation.
Medically speaking, your system will get a fillip after you donate blood.
Giving blood is good for your body.
You will not suffer in the process of donating blood.
You won't feel any different after giving your blood, but to take care, we will ensure you have some fluids and rest a bit after the donation. In half an hour, you'll be fit and fine to attend to regular work!
You will be totally safe from any type of infection.
The hygiene and safety standards at the Rotary Blood Bank are equal to the highest in the world. We do not compromise on anything and use sterile gloves, disposable needles, new bags, etc. The environment is kept clean and aseptic, during camps as well. Take one look at our Bloodmobile and you will be convinced! Our donors are very precious to us. We ensure that they come to us brimming with confidence and leave happy and satisfied!

What happens when you go to donate blood?

You fill in the donor form, giving statutory particulars including health status.

You are then in queue with a whole lot of equally motivated people!

The procedure is quick and easy. You have good company, doctors, technicians, and other donors.

First you get a very warm welcome.

You are examined by a doctor. Blood sample is taken for testing haemoglobin count. Weight and blood pressure are checked.

The couch is specially designed to facilitate circulation. It also helps you relax.

Post donation, some juice, some snacks, a little rest...

And the energy to give timid would-be donors a pep talk!
