The state-of-the-art Rotary Blood Bank, set up by Rotary Clubs in Rotary District 3010, owes its existence with support from Rotary Foundation, Central and State Governments, Public Sector Corporations, Rotarians.

In every respect it is a community project. Everybody has pitched in. There has been help, cooperation and financial assistance from many quarters and support in fund raising activities.

The project

Rotary Blood Bank is a 15000 sq ft centrally air conditioned state-of-the-art facility set up on a 1500 sq meter plot in Tughlakabad Institutional Area. The project so far has cost Rs 5 crores.

Rs 1.5 crores has been spent on the most sophisticated blood bank collection, testing and storage equipments. An airconditioned Blood Mobile Van has been commissioned at a cost of Rs 27 lakhs to collect blood from voluntary donors in blood donation camps.

Donors
The Blood Bank has received the support of the Delhi Government and the Central Government, who together have contributed Rs 53 lakhs for the project.
Shri Sahib Singh Verma, Member of Lok Sabha, has committed Rs.21 lakhs for this humanitarian cause.
Five members of Parliament - Dr Karan Singh, Dr. Sahib Singh Verma, Dr A.R. Kidwai, Shri F S Nariman and Smt. Ambika Soni have each committed Rs.20 lakhs from their MP's Local Area Development Funds.
Shri Trilok Nath, former I.G of Police, Bihar and former Rotary Governor, has given Rs.80 lakhs in the memory of his wife Late Smt. Sarojini Nath.
Rotary members Sarvshri Vinod Agarwal and Vijay Agarwal have contributed Rs.25 lakhs in the memory of their late father Shri Prithvi Raj.
Rotary Foundation of Rotary International has given a grant of Rs. 2 crores for the Blood Bank equipment.
